Tamariki & Rangatahi Term 1 competition wrap up

This week the Bowls Canterbury Centre Green has been buzzing with Tamariki and Rangatahi using the Centre Green. The Centre Green was used not only for the CAIMS Year 7/8 student Pairs event, but also for the Canterbury Secondary Schools Regional Singles and Triples Championships. On Tuesday 16 March, 48 students from six different schools. This was a modified Pairs game, where one player would play four bowls and their teammate would then score that end and play the bowls back. On Friday 22 January 2021, four players from across Canterbury competed at Fendalton BC for the chance to qualify and play at the Bowls Canterbury Centre Finals Weekend. The four players played a round robin competition, with a two out of three wins to qualify for the Finals. This year, Dylan Campbell (Woolston Park) and Courtney Bodger (Kaiapoi Riverside) both qualified. The schedule of events for the Centre Finals Weekend will be released on Monday 25 January 2021.
