Bowls is a sport for everyone to play. It does not matter your age, ability or disability anyone can play.

We want to ensure everyone has an opportunity to play our great sport and be involved as much as they would like. We have different programmes and events anyone is welcome to be involved with and our clubs in Canterbury are extremely welcoming and accommodating. Having 56 affiliated clubs in Canterbury I am sure there is one around the corner from you that you are can go and play.

Bowls New Zealand has established an Open Disability category and Bowls Canterbury supports this new initiative. We welcome anyone with a disability that affects their bowling with the opportunity to come along to our events. Under Bowls Zealand eligibility regulations, any individual who has any of the following can enter the Open Disability events. There are no age or gender restrictions. We are keen to run regular tournaments/have a go at lawn bowls.

Open Disability Tournament/ Have a Go Day!

This is a great opportunity for anyone with a disability that affects their bowling. Even those that use a bowling arm fall under the regulations, so we welcome all! This tournament is supporting inclusion for anyone in and outside our bowling community with little to no restrictions. There are no age restrictions, you do not have to be a club member, there are no gender restrictions, and no entry fee.
