Workshop #1 - Alcohol Management in Clubs
As the Bowling Season is fast approaching Bowls Canterbury are looking at once again running workshops and seminars relating to topics that help with the operating and functioning of your clubs.
The first of our workshops has been brought to you by the Christchurch City Council, Sport Canterbury, Community and Public Health and Healthy Families who along with Bowls Canterbury wish to invite you and your club members to a workshop around managing alcohol in your club. This workshop is for ALL licensed as well as unlicensed bowls clubs. The invitation is extended to all club committee members, club management personnel, bar staff, coaches and bowls participants. Please spread the word!
Bowls and alcohol management workshop
Wednesday 4th September
6.15 – 7.30pm (Food at 6.00pm)
Bowls Papanui, 181 Condell Ave
The workshop will include;
• The culture of alcohol in bowls
• How to get through your licence renewal as smoothly as possible
• What do clubs need to do to comply with the law
• Developing your club’s alcohol policies
• Resources available to support your club
This workshop is a good opportunity to prepare for your club licence renewal process, with input from professionals in the alcohol licensing area. It is a good opportunity to look at ways to reduce problems with alcohol in bowls.
If you wish, bring a copy of your alcohol licence and any club alcohol policy and procedures to the workshop. Input can be provided to update these before your licence renewal process.
Food and refreshments will be provided. To assist with catering requirements, please RSVP to Mel at firstname.lastname@example.org by 28th August 2019 with the names of who will be attending the workshop.
