Please below Bowls NZ’s recent update.

Below is the email that Lorraine McLeod sent through to Club’s.

Hi All

We are now in Level 2 until midnight Wednesday. Bowls NZ have issued the following guidelines. I urge all clubs to adhere to these and to make sure everyone uses either the App to log in or they sign in. Please make sure you have hand sanitiser where it can be accessed easily and if you want more we still have some in the Centre office.

The following is from Chris Lander Bowls NZ
With the announcement today that the country is to return to a higher Covid-19 Alert Level status than we have been able to enjoy in the past few months, we wish to re-issue our recommendations to clubs and players with regard to activity at bowling clubs. (See attached below)

First and foremost, we wish to ensure that all club members remain safe and healthy.

To this end we recommend that where clubs are under a Level 3 restriction (greater Auckland region – Wellsford to Pukekohe), clubrooms should remain closed and no (zero) bowls activity should take place on the greens.

For the rest of the country, while under Alert Level 2 restrictions, we recommend reduced activity on greens, achieved through wider rinks (six rinks per green maximum), and that social distancing and a high standard of hygiene in the clubhouse and on the greens are practiced at all times.

Regardless of the Alert Level you are operating within, if you are feeling unwell, please seek medical assistance and do not visit your bowling club.

It is hoped that by remaining as vigilant as we have been in the past, we can all return to the relative security of Alert Level 1 in the very near future.

We will provide updates as and when necessary and, in the meantime, urge you to stay safe and keep connected.

If you any players are unwell encourage the to go home, isolate and be tested. If anyone is apprehensive about playing please do not force them to, be understanding of their feelings and be kind.

Please pass on to all members. I will be in touch as soon as I have any updates.

Take care
