The Women are hoping to defend their title from last year and Coach Raelene Peters has selected a very experienced team. Veteran Canterbury players Angela and Mandy Boyd who were both an integral part of the 2018 team have both made themselves unavailable for this years team due to family commitments. However NZ Development Player Cait Bassett and experienced player Kim Rowlands are looking forward to having the chance to play for the National title.
The Canterbury Men's team, were favourites to make the final at last years Intercentre on home greens, however 2018 was not to be for the Men as they missed out narrowly missed out on qualify for post section play. This year the Men's Coaches and Selectors are expecting big things from their squad who has current Blackjacks players; Andrew Kelly and Gary Lawson as well as Development NZ Player, Richard Hocking.
Both Canterbury teams play at various greens across Auckland in Section play on Friday and Saturday and then hopefully if they qualify for post section player they play on Sunday in the finals.
