The Burnside Bowling Club will once again host some of Australia’s and New Zealand’s finest bowling talent in this years Bayleys Stewart Buttar Burnside Pairs event.
The prestigious $11,200 tournament which has Bayleys as its major sponsor is without questions one of New Zealand’s premier club events.
This years field includes four of Australia’s top bowlers and an equally talented number of New Zealanders, including current national singles champion Taylor Horn and national pairs winners Chris Lowe and Jordan King. Add to that World Singles champion Shannon McIlroy and many other top NZ players and you have a class field.
The Australian’s coming this year are all from their A Squad and are Scott Thulborn and Wayne Ruidiger and their ladies pairing is Chloe Stewart and Lynsey Clarke. Over the years our support from Bowls Australia has been great and to send players of this quality shows that they hold our event in high regard.
Play begins on Friday at 8:30am and goes through until finals played on Sunday afternoon and the Burnside club invites any interested spectators to come along throughout the event free of charge to witness what is sure to be an outstanding three days of bowls.
